I grew up in Montana, went to college and graduate school in Indiana, and spent more than a decade working in New York. I now live in Berlin, Germany, with my wife and two children.
To put this into perspective, a typical novel is only 50,000 words. I began my career as a translator with a talent for writing, but I’ve had the opportunity to hone this skill to perfection working on just the type of documents you need translated: PR, marketing, and corporate communications materials.
In my time at Bertelsmann, I assisted in the production of a wide array of materials that conveyed complex and important messages in regard to the field of Ethics & Compliance. Expressing these complicated but vital ideas and being immersed in the corporate world gave me the ability to write for and about the business world as someone with “native knowledge.”
At Cornerstone Properties, which has since merged with Equity Office (Blackstone Group), I interacted daily with C-level executives as well as a wide variety of stakeholders, assisting in the preparation of press releases, website content, quarterly and annual reports, and other materials for communicating with analysts, institutional and retail investors, and the general public.
After attending graduate school to receive my Master of Public Affairs degree, which included a core curriculum overlapping almost entirely with that of an MBA, I began my career in New York, where I worked in a variety of corporate positions that provided me with a wealth of experience relevant to marketing, PR, and contracts. This ultimately culminated in my move to Berlin, Germany, where I have helped hundreds of German corporate clients get their message across in flawless and effective English.
